Follow a fascinating arc from sacred beginnings through centuries of transformation to the Bhutan we know today. Along the way, sacred heritage, evolving identity, and everyday life are woven together through nature, ritual, and meaningful human connection.
Designed to complement and build on the experience of guests who have previously travelled with us to Bhutan for the November Black-Necked Crane Festival and Classics Tour.
We follow the story of Bhutan itself, tracing its origins and evolution through the landscapes and communities that have shaped its identity.
These are not just historical milestones, but living narratives that still shape Bhutan’s culture, spirituality, and daily life.
ADVENTURE DATES
GRADE 2 -This journey involves hiking from village to village at lower elevations, with no significant altitude exposure. It is suitable for first-time trekkers who have completed consistent training and are confident walking up to 5 hours per day on well-defined but uneven terrain.
Trails may include stone steps, dirt roads, terraced farmland, forest paths, and occasional jungle sections. While accommodation and logistics are thoughtfully arranged, some areas are remote and facilities may be basic. Flexibility is essential. Weather, local conditions, or cultural events may require itinerary adjustments, which can result in longer walking days. A moderate level of fitness, stability on uneven ground, and a positive, adaptable mindset are required.
This is a hotel based tour. It is likely you will have to share a room with a group member of the same gender while in Bhutan. Single supplement is possible when in Kathmandu, Nepal.

In spring, rhododendron forests burst into bloom!
🌸 Along the way, we share fireside storytelling, cultural immersion, and farm-to-table dining rooted in local life. The journey also includes hands-on traditions such as archery and rafting, balanced with moments of stillness, reflection, and ritual connection.
🔍 This is a journey beyond the surface—both physically and culturally—into lesser-travelled landscapes and lived experiences.
🤝 Encounters are grounded in real connection, offering authentic exchange with people and place rather than performance.
🌿 Carefully seasonally curated for March, it is designed around peak rhododendron bloom and optimal Himalayan conditions.
🔥 Most importantly, it is shaped by moments that matter where presence, not pace, defines the experience.
